Osteopathy takes a holistic approach and concentrates on the body as whole. Treatments are natural, manual form of healing which emphasizes connections between the structure and function of the human body. Treatments are done with the client clothed, and generally involve gentle manual work. It is best known for the treatment of Chronic disorders such as back and neck pain, sciatica, sports injuries, postural strain, and jaw dysfunction. Osteopathy works to optimize structural balance and allow the body to perform optimally, heal itself, and reduce or eliminate pain.

Soft Tissue Manipulation
The practitioner uses soft tissue manipulation in many different ways. In general, they use it to evaluate the condition of tissues and to help the body’s fluids (such as blood and lymphatic fluid) flow smoothly. Keeping fluids flowing smoothly reduces harmful fluid retention and makes the body’s immune system more effective. Fascia is tissue found in all parts of the body. It connects all of the body’s structures at both superficial and deep levels. Practitioners evaluate the fascia to find areas of restriction, and then use soft tissue manipulation to make sure the length and tension of the fascia are properly balanced. Throughout the treatment, manual osteopaths keep checking on the state of the body’s tissues. If one technique isn’t working to correct a restriction, they use another approach instead. Above all, manual osteopaths try to restore health without over-treating.

Osteopathic Articular Technique
Manual osteopaths use this technique to reduce muscle spasms near a joint, ease neurological irritations around a joint, make joints more mobile and to reduce pain and discomfort. The articular technique involves gently moving 2 joint surfaces. Before doing this, Manual osteopaths carefully prepare the soft tissues around the treatment area. They also move the patient into a position that will minimize, or eliminate the energy and force needed to perform the manoeuver. Many patients find this technique less forceful than joint manipulations.

CranioSacral Osteopathy
This is a very gentle osteopathic technique, and it requires the most experience to use effectively. To learn this technique, Manual osteopaths undergo intensive training. Through this training, their hands become sensitive to the cranial mobility and develop great precision in utilizing cranial techniques. Manual osteopaths use this gentle technique to assess and treat the mobility of the skull and its contents. They may also use it to assess and treat the spine, the sacrum, and other parts of the body. The goal of this technique is to adjust the body’s physiology by restoring balance to the circulation of the blood and other body fluids. Manual osteopaths do this by treating the body’s inherent biorhythm. They are able to feel this rhythm in the patient’s head, spinal cord, and in the sacrum and the rest of the body. Manual osteopaths use the biorhythm to assess the patient’s condition, and they may modify it during treatment.

Visceral Manipulation
Manual osteopaths use visceral manipulation to treat organs and viscera of the body, including the lungs, heart, liver, spleen, kidneys, stomach, pancreas, intestines, bladder and uterus. Patients may feel pain in one or more of these organs, or the viscera may be less pliable than it should be. Manual osteopaths gently move the structures themselves and the fascia (connective tissue) that surrounds them to restore full movement.

Most patients treated with visceral manipulation feel only gentle pressure of the Manual osteopath’s hand, but the corrections are powerful enough to improve the mobility of an organ, improve blood flow, and help the organ function more effectively.

The above (and many other) osteopathic manual techniques and approaches are used in a coordinated and rational fashion to slowly adjust the patients anatomy and physiology towards normal, so that the patient’s body can heal itself.

Energy Medicine is based upon the premise that the human body encompasses an energetic “life force” and energy centres (chakras) that keep the body’s cells healthy, functioning and alive.
Energy healing is a holistic practice where healers channel universal life force (or healing energy) into a patient to help balance, heal and remove blockages from the body. Flow, balance, harmony and vitality within the body can be restored and maintained during a treatment. Energy Medicine includes a variety of holistic healing modalities like: Reiki Energy Healing, Light Therapy, Acupuncture, Reflexology, Thai Massage, Tapping, and more.
Your energetic body has a crucial role to play towards your wellbeing journey.

Here are 5 things everyone needs to know about Energy Healing:
1. Energy Healing is Based on Scientific Fact
Everything in this universe is composed of molecules that are vibrating at various frequencies. The molecules located within our bodies are constantly vibrating and radiating positive or negative, balanced or unbalanced, opened or closed frequencies. When our organs are misaligned energetically and radiating low-vibrational frequencies, it can materialize into physical ailments, like pains, sickness and disease.

2. Energy Medicine Can Help Heal Physical and Emotional Traumas
Our energetic bodies are intertwined with our physical bodies. All the traumas we carry physically, emotionally and psychologically impact the functionality of our energy systems (chakras) and vice versa. To maintain vibrant health, the body needs its energies to have energetic space to flow freely throughout the body. When energies become blocked because of traumas, toxins, prolonged stress and muscular constrictions, it creates disturbances in the energy flow in our bodies, which over time contributes to mental, emotional issues and/or ailments and physical disease.

3. Energy Healing is Available to Everyone
There is often a misconception that you need to be spiritual to be open and receptive to energy healing. Energy healing is readily available to everyone who is interested and wiling to receive it. You don’t need to be spiritual or hypersensitive to energies to benefit from an energy healing treatment. As humans (just like every living being), we all have an energetic body that needs to be balanced and taken care of regularly. Some energy medicine modalities, like reiki treatments, transcend time and space. Therefore, you don’t have to be located in the same room, city or even country as your energy healer to receive and benefit from energy healing treatment.

4. Energy Medicine is Painless and has no Negative Side Effects
During an energy healing treatment, patients will feel little to no physical discomfort. During the majority of the session, patients will be lying comfortably on a bed while the practitioner non-invasively assesses their aura and releases energetic blockages from the body. As the blockages are being released and chakras are being balanced, patients will experience a rebalancing process that may evoke a variety of emotions or physical sensations, like tiredness, anger, sadness, emptiness, or light headedness. This usually occurs when a deeply embedded trauma or attachment is finally released from the physical, emotional and energetic bodies. It is essential to allow your mind, body and soul to acknowledge the trauma that has been released during your energy healing treatment and fill that space with new, light, healing energies.

5. Energy Medicine Works with Almost Every Other Type of Healing
Energy healing therapy has been used to treat various health conditions and complements many other forms of treatments and therapies. Combining holistic therapies, like Reiki Energy Healing, with conventional health treatments can help you optimize your health and wellbeing. There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to healing. Energy medicine doesn’t replace Western Medicine and vice versa. But, together various forms of healing modalities and therapies can work in conjunction to effectively support, balance, restore, cure and repair your body.

My mission is to help people become the most empowered versions of themselves. We all have different experiences and require different methods to help during our healing process. At H2 OM I strive to provide a comfortable space where people can heal with ease. We all have the power to create change and I believe that we are provided with the opportunity to lead every day.

Personally, my healing had begun at a young age and I found clarity through journaling, meditation, and movement. This led me to pursue an Honours Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Guelph- Humber in Psychology where I completed my undergrad thesis in goal setting (2016). Followed by obtaining my Life Coaching Certification from the Centre for Applied Neuroscience (2019) and attending The Health Coach Institute receiving an additional Life and Health Coach Certification (2022). I now work as an Empowerment Coach primarily with women who struggle with self-worth and confidence.

I gain great satisfaction from helping others, but when I’m not, I love to stay active, explore my creativity, cuddle with my cat, recharge in nature, attend social events and challenge myself with new adventures! You might even spot me by the lake reading a book on a warm spring day.

Leadership is a way of being

Being a leader has stretched, challenged and broken me into designing my own unique leadership style.  I thought being a successful leader meant I had to fit in leaving me feeling divided from my authentic self.  Through introspection, learning from great leaders, and investing in my own self-development, I reconciled within myself - in order to be a leader that will have a positive impact in my organization but more importantly the people I get to lead, I must lead with integrity, honesty and loyalty.

I have 20 years of experience in the aerospace and defence industry leading small and large teams with my current role leading a team of 270 employees.  I am a licensed engineer and have completed leadership programs at the Niagara Institute For Creative Leadership and High Performance Leaders.

Out of my passion for leadership and developing the potential in people, I’ve tailored leadership fundamentals and techniques to marry both the feminine and masculine qualities within us in order to lead in alignment with your best self.  My purpose is to help you leave a legacy larger than yourself. I have been passionate about health and sports since a very young age. Taking on every sport available to me in school I found movement was the key to living better, happier and healthier. I traded my initial goals of becoming a Doctor to getting my Specialized Honours degree in Kinesiology and Health Sciences from York University. My goal was to help educate people on the preventative side of health, before they stepped into the Doctors office.

I worked hard to obtain every top training certification out there so I could help every person that walked through my door. I am a Registered Kinesiologist, Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and a Stott Pilates-trained Matwork Instructor.

My first job out of University was working with Figure Skaters and I fell in love with tailoring the training program to being more sport-specific to help these athletes reach their goals. Having always admired the sport from a distance it became an area of specialty for me as I dedicated my research and time for developing this area of expertise. This is also where I met my husband so I am also truly grateful for this.

I am a Certified Personal Trainer and an NCCP Level 3 Coach. I was a National Level Competitive Figure Skater in singles and pairs and also played soccer competitively.

Throughout my athletic skating career, I have received numerous awards. Provincially I have achieved a gold medal in singles at the junior level, and two silver medals in pairs at the senior level. In addition to training, and coaching all levels of skating, I also skate professionally and have performed as a Principal soloist and Principle adagio pair skater in local and international shows. In 2011 and 2013 I skated in the hit Dutch reality tv show “Skating with the Stars” (Sterren Dansen op het Ijs).

Together with my wife we run a strength and conditioning company and skating school for the last 16 years called Your Peak Performance. Working with beginner to Olympic level athletes and focusing on the sport-specific and technical aspects of a skaters development, we use creative methods to engage skaters and allow for immediate results and transferance to the ice for figure skating or hockey. I’m very passionate about helping athletes reach their goals both in the gym and on the ice.

As a coach I’m always looking to help my athletes and clients optimize their health and performance. Three years ago as an athlete myself I learned about the importance of optimal hydration and how it significantly improved my performance, recovery and healing from an injury. Educating athletes and people on health through proper hydration has become my new mission.
